Holy Crap It's 33 Below!

We hit a new record low last night, -33F. It's STILL -33 a 8:15 a.m., according to both Minnesota Public Radio and my Yahoo page. This is getting ridiculous; even the puppy refused to walk this morning! It'll be another day stuck inside, but today we're going to do some painting and reorganizing in the basement. Photos later! They're still saying we're going to get above zero today...we'll see.

Stuck Inside

We woke up this morning and it was 25 below zero (F.). Fortunately, the superintendents used their senses and cancelled school for the -45 windchill, so George is home with us today. We're all staying inside as much as possible. Only George has been out to feed and water the chickens, and walk the dog 1/2 a block. Even the dog comes in shivering! This is a good day to finally show you the bathroom tile project-completed! And to let you see a little of what we've been doing homeschooling/life learning-wise: Some collage art with Rose. Rootbeer making with Elijah. Knitting hats for babies and playing games with our homeschool co-op friends. And refereeing the still-ongoing old cat and new puppy battles. (We've discovered, as if we didn't know it, that our cat is quite the b*tch!) Ooh, and George and I just joined on facebook.com, so now we're reconnecting with lots of *old* friends. Are you on facebook? It's yet another online addiction...

Happy Birthday to My Mom!

I'm a terrible daughter. I always forget to send the card on time. I never forget the date, or the person, but getting a card in the mail ahead of time...ack! Never do it. (For that matter, in this regard I'm a terrible sister, granddaughter, niece, daughter-in-law, etc. Card sending escapes me in general, and I was raised better than that, yes.) So, this morning I can use my blog to send out the message, which won't be arriving on time in the mail today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM! I love you! Thanks for being my mom! Love, Lisa I hope you're enjoying the heat in Arizona while we're sitting inside watching the snow and cold blow in...
