Going Crazy

I have felt all out of sorts today because George has taken over the living room to get it painted before we host the neighborhood Christmas party one week from tonight. The furniture is in the dining room, and the entire house is in chaos because of this. There is nowhere to sit and relax! Except the bedroom, which is also a mess of fabric and other stuff in preparation for Christmas gifts, which is making me bah humbug about Christmas already. I am not naturally disposed to crafting, why do I always have such big plans to sew, knit, etc.?!?!!!! We always have these amazing orbs in our house photos, no matter the room or time of day. Some say they're angels or spirits showing up in the digital shots. What do you think? I do not feel at ease EVER when my house is a mess. Now, I know others don't feel this way. My husband and children, to name a few. I never mind being at someone else's house if it's messy; this is just my own thing in my own home. Sometimes I feel li...

A Green Meme, #2

I finally had to look up the word "meme" today since Mon at Global Homestead tagged me with this one. What does it mean? A unit of cultural information, such as a cultural practice or idea, that is transmitted verbally or by repeated action from one mind to another. (defn. from answers.com ) Interesting. I didn't know. Here's the latest, the so-called Green Meme #2... Guidelines: 1) Link to Green Meme Bloggers . (use image if you like) 2) Link back to whoever tagged you. (no need to wait to be tagged!) 3) Include meme number 4) Include these guidelines in your post 5) Tag 3 other green bloggers. 1. Do you use baking soda toothpaste or baking soda shampoo? If not, would you consider it? I've used both. Didn't last on the baking soda shampoo because my hair is already so dry, so instead I just shampoo once or twice a week, scalp only with a tiny bit of "green" shampoo. I'm still using stuff I got free when I worked as the body care buyer at...

Housework

Nicole over at Deliberate Life made a great comment the other day in her post called Little Ways To Deliberately Slow Down , about meandering around in the morning doing the housework. I felt that phrase "meandering around" really fits what I do each day. I don't consider much of the housework much of a chore, as I rather like to go from room to room tidying up a bit each day. Making the beds, opening the shades, straightening the stuff, sweeping the floors, wiping the counters. However, sometimes the "damage" my kids can do to a place really gets me down. Cleaning their spaces can be a monumental task. Yes, I know I should have them more regularly clean their rooms. And we're trying, really we are, to have them tidy up each night before bed. But I'll admit I'm the most guilty of being too exhausted to even look at the messes each night, much less remind them to clean it up. So at times it gets left, and it builds up. And builds up. Two weeks ago I ...
