George Turns the Big 5-0 Today

You've come a long way, baby! This is George, the year I was born, 1970. He's 11 already! (these are the only old pics I could find...not very good, I know)
George with the dogs, Gloucester, Virginia 1972. Love the shaggy hair and leisure suit!

Some of George's favorite things...

Family.
The Enchanted Highway, North Dakota, 2004.

Music is his number one passion. Especially making music with kids.
Here he is singing and playing with a little Rose.

For at least the past 40 years of his life, it's been all about the music!
And skiing. His skiing time has taken a hit since becoming a family man, but he still fits it in when he can...That's George and Rose skiing up ahead, with Elijah tagging behind, at Spirit Mountain in Duluth. This is the day before he took a big fall while down-hilling, breaking his shoulder.

Camping.Bluegrass Festival campsite, Richmond, Minn., August 2008.

Gardening.
Planting the raspberry canes last year.

And sailing, of course, which has REALLY taken a hit since he moved away from the sea...
George, Elijah and Rose cleaning one of Grandpa's sailboats so they can take it out. Gloucester, Virginia, 2005 (?). Happy Birthday, love!
