Oh Crap! He Just Appointed Vilsack

President-elect Obama just appointed former Iowa governor Tom Vilsack to be the Secretary of Agriculture. Besides Vilsack's obvious support of ethanol, which I believe to be yet another huge, unsustainable boondoggle, Vilsack is "in bed" with giant agribusiness and I'm extremely disappointed in this choice.

Here are Six Reasons Why Obama Appointing Monsanto's Buddy, Former Iowa Governor Vilsack, for USDA Head Would be a Terrible Idea, from the Organic Consumers Association. And people wonder why I can't be a staunch Democrat anymore! Their ideals are just not completely in line with mine, even if they are the "better of two evils". Ack!

So sad. I am becoming more and more disappointed in Obama and how he is addressing the issues we face. I am becoming a firm believer that we need to start locally and I mean your own homestead, then the neighborhood, and so forth.

I agree... I've liked the open forum he's instituted but the people he's picked have been disappointing. I think what everyone wanted was real people, and the people and solutions are typical instead.

Also sad beyond words. I planned to post about this too, but was so disappointed by the choice I couldn't find my words.

I noticed U s D a is really pumping out the nais regulations and approvals right now. I see bigag getting stronger (a fear I had about Obama even tho I voted for him; I don't think it would have been better with McCain either).

I would have like to have seen "real people" too.
