I wish I could be SouleMama and just write about nice things and take beautiful photographs (I love her blog for the peace and beauty that it is). I wish I didn't ever feel the need to worry my pretty little head about that stuff at all. But, alas, I am me and information, thankfully, abounds in this world and I've always been quite addicted to it.
And to searching for some truth in all of it.
Today's Life After the Oil Crash Breaking News Page is, as usual, quite depressing. James Howard Kunstler's Monday update will likely be yet another diatribe against our government and ignorant Americans. Even the New York Times and USA Today are running articles against the Fannie and Freddie takeover (it does have the whiff of communism or fascism doesn't it? Yet more government/corporate control over our lives and mortgages...). I'll spend too much time reading and trying to understand a lot of it.
But for now let's go back to the tea party.
Rose made the Sally Lunn Bread (in a Bundt cake pan) from Felicity's Cookbook as part of our homeschool study of American History through the American Girl series of historical fiction books. We're having a blast right now reading the Felicity series and studying the 13 Colonies and the American Revolution. The kids and I enjoyed our tea and Sally Lunn bread with jam and maple butter (from the Quince's) very much!
Oh, if all of life could be a tea party. I think I'm going to try and let it be today.
